The Details:
AskMen and Ribera del Duero will host 75+ consumers and media for an evening of wine discovery, focusing on a selection of wines from the region. During this event, guests will be invited to participate in an intimate one-on-one style tasting flight with Master Sommelier and RyR Ambassador Alex LaPratt, where they will have the opportunity to learn more about the region, varietal, and be guided through how to best explore these wine using all of their senses (touch, look, smell, taste) like a somm would. From reading a label, to the color in the glass, to how the wines express themselves on the nose and mouth. They will then be encouraged to use these methods during the rest of the night, as they explore additional wines form the regions at three pairing “stations.” These stations will be staffed by other sommeliers and wine experts who will continue to guide them in using their senses as they taste the wines paired with a specially-selected canapé. The aim is to have two different wines per 1 food pairing, so they can see the difference in how the wine pairs differently based on its profile. Wines will also be available by the glass.
