THE D.O. RUEDA TAKES ITS ENGAGEMENT WITH MUSIC TO SWITZERLAND
The Designation of Origin Rueda takes part in the "Stars of Sounds" festival, which takes place from the 2nd to the 4th June in the Swiss city of Murten.
The D.O. Rueda continues its move to reach out to young people through music and has joined the Swiss pop-rock festival "Stars of Sounds" for the second year running. Almost 30,000 people are expected to attend this musical event, which will feature songs by the German Andreas Bourani and the British Hurts, among others.
The D.O. Regulatory Council will have a stand with around twenty wines for tasting from the Designation of Origin Rueda. The Verdejo variety will take centre stage, but attendees will also be able to discover sparkling wines and those of the Sauvignon Blanc variety which are produced in the region. More than 7000 glasses of wine were consumed in 2015, a figure which they hope to surpass this year. Tasting will be free and will be accompanied by explanations about the wines and the production methods used in this wine-growing region.
The Stars of Sounds festival will take place from the 2nd to the 4th June on the banks of Lake Murten, an unbeatable setting where, for three days, young people from all over Europe will enjoy a full menu of pop-rock, being able to savour the wines of the D.O. Rueda at the same time. The festival‘s big day will be Saturday the 4th, when Andreas Bourani will mount the stage to perform the songs from his latest album, "Hey".
Engagement with music
The D.O. Rueda continues its engagement with music to bring wine culture closer to young people. Right now they are finalising the organisation of the Rueda FASSE Festival 2016, which takes place from the 21st to the 24th June in Medina del Campo, Valladolid, with Supersubmarina and Love of Lesbian as the most eminent groups. The group MORRIGANS, sponsored by the D.O. Rueda since 2014, will also be present.
